I am currently Lecturer in Drama Practice at University of Staffordshire, UK.

I teach across the BA Acting for Stage and Screen, MA Collaborative Theatre Practice, and MA Contemporary Pantomime Practice courses. I teach critical and academic skills, research skills, practice research, collaborative and ensemble practices, design and production, and interdisciplinary scenographic thinking and practice.

  • Scenographic devising methods - One hour, 45 minute practical explorations and theoretical discussions.

  • Concretising designs - One hour, 45 minute practical explorations, and group tutorials.

  • Tutorials, exploring students’ ideas for upcoming performances (practical assessment)

2019 Design Principles module

  • ’Stage Architectures’ - Two hour lecture, group discussion and practical concept activity

  • ’Staging an Exhibition’ - Two hour practical workshop (co-planned and co-delivered)

  • Two hour presentation followed by question/answer session. Focus on:

    • Interweaving practice and theory

    • Methods I used to document and analyse my practice from different perspectives

 

2017 Introduction to Set Design

  • Critically analysing a text for set design, and design starting points

  • Intro to designing in scale, model making, and research

  • Critical engagement and reflection on research design

  • Scenic painting basic skills
